Roy Sayer - Timpani

Roy started his musical career in 1944, when he took up the bass drum (after a very short spell of six weeks learning the cornet!). After learning to play the drum in the junior band of the Salvation Army in Fakenham, he moved on to the senior band where he stayed until its closure in 2008.
Roy joined Fakenham Town Band in 2009, where he says that everyone is very friendly and that he enjoys being able to carry on drumming.
Away from music Roy enjoys woodwork and gardening.
