Caroline Dawson - Second Cornet
Caroline joined the Fakenham Town Band in February 2010 after her children started lessons with the band. She joined soon after and found it completely addictive. Before starting brass, Caroline has played recorder and flute as a child.
Caroline describes her favourite music as 'anything which touches your soul' which depends on your mood, location etc - she likes Bach, Blues, Jazz and Soul - pretty much anything.
Caroline says that band gives her purposes and is one of her values in life - it keeps her physically and mentally well. 'Band is my family' she says.
Caroline's most memorable incident has to be the knobbly-knees contest at Langham one year, when Keith won the whiskey! Most of the lads from the band entered, but Keith's were definitely a fine pair of knobbly knees!
Caroline says to anyone thinking of taking up an instrument - you are never too old to learn and have fun!
