Flugel - Catherine Wilkinson

Catherine started her brass playing career in 1993. Joining Fakenham Town Band in Spring 2005, previously playing with South Norfolk Youth Brass Band (1993-1997), South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band (1994-1995) and New Buckenham Silver Band (1997-2003).

Apparently, Catherine also plays the flute (badly) and is currently learning to play the guitar (even worse!). She is also a member of Wymondham Young Farmers Club and enjoys reading.

Catherine enjoys being in Fakenham band because 'they are a fun bunch of people' with a great social aspect as well as having a good standard of playing.

A funny moment... at Catherine's first ever concert at Wortwell Community Centre, aged just 10 (ah!), at the interval needed the loo. She walked in and realised it was the Gents! The bass section and guy she sat next to couldn't stop laughing. She now lives with the back-line cornet guy so it couldn't have left too bad an impression.
