2nd Cornet - Antony Edwards Antony's debut into the brass banding world was with Fakenham Town Band in 1998. A versatile player, Antony plays all valved brass instruments (except soprano) and also had a period on tuned percussion during his 'braced' years. Antony is currently away at university, but is a regular attendee when in this area. He plays with the University of Warwick Brass Band, sings bass in a barbershop quartet and plays trumpet in a Ska/Punk band while away. Antony enjoys playing in Fakenham Town Band because of the great atmosphere and the perfect mix between fun engagements and high pressure contests. (not that contests aren't fun too!) Other hobbies are Rugby, Mathematics (yes that's mathematics!), 5-a-side football and bridge. Antony remembers his first contest with Fakenham on 3rd cornet. He was too scared to play a note until the final chord where he certainly made up for it by blasting too loud! He still chuckles about the time the band were on a marching job and a local dog decided to join in by persistently barking (nearly) on the off-beats.
